Well, spring is in the air and we are ready for a fabulous summer of fun at Glazes! Many of you know that at one time I had Glazes on the market to sell. Not anymore, I am back and have hired Ginna Gordon as the Manager to help me bring in some new energy, ideas and crafts. Our talented staff of Dai and Gail are still with us, so with this dynamic team in place I see great things in our future. Here are some of the awesome ideas we are working on:

We LOVE the "Farm Table" concept and will be bringing this philosophy into Glazes. Generations used to share skills 'round the farmtable. Not so much anymore, so here is where we can help. We have a great big table and lots of skills and plan to share them with you. If you have any childhood memories and want us to create a class just let us know! Embroidery anyone?

Beading- From semi-precious stones to loom work, Ginna will be teaching beading on Thursday afternoons. Remember those loomed friendship bracelets we used to make? Well, come on in and buy one of Ginna's cool kits and she will show you how to do it. This is for "tweens" and adults as it is not as easy as it looks!

Glass Fusing- It is really fun, easy and stunningly beautiful. We have tons of supplies to choose from and you can either take a class that is offered monthly or come in and we will help you create a magical piece.

Sewing- Between us we have quite a few sewing machines. Later in the summer we will be teaching a beginning sewing class. Let us know if this interests you.

Going GREEN- We have been told that Companies are eliminating paper cups in the office and that employees have been told to bring in a mug to use. Why not have a team building meeting where everyone paints a mug for the office? You can bring everyone to Glazes or we can came to you!

These are a few of the ideas we are working on. Please feel free to give me feedback (I can take negative feedback as well as kudos) as I really want Glazes to be your venue for entertaining fun. Working together we can achieve great things!

Carmel's Glazes offers some of the best activities on the Monterey Peninsula.  There's something for everyone, from families to moms who "need a night off". My daughters and I have gone to Glazes for almost ten years.  Some of  our most cherished mementos are from Glazes; our daughter's then tiny  hand-print on a Father's Day gift box for Clint, or painted ceramic animals that adorn the many corners of our house.  Glazes signifies  many great occasions and memories in our lives. Glazes is also great for a quick get together with other mothers and friends.  It provides a great and non-intimidating way to explore your talents, and act like a kid again!  And the prices are so reasonable.  After trips to Glazes, friends will say, “I forgot how fun it was to just let go and PAINT!"   We love being able to enjoy this jewel of a studio, and hope you discover it, too!

It's been great to see the sun, which reminds me it is time to bring out the spring bisque! We just got some darling fairies in and there are also plant pots that are screaming to be mosaiced. Of course, everything in my world is screaming to be mosaiced!

I hope we get a good turn out for our March 31st event as it's going to be awesome. You get to paint a mug, mosaic a tile and do a mini-museable, all for $10! Its a promotional event, I want to share the joy of crafts with you on this day, so make a reservation. Time slots are: 12 to 1:30, 2 to 3:30 and 4 to 5:30.

Had a great gal in yesterday who painted a cereal bowl with PROM? in the bottom of the bowl. She was inviting her date to the Prom, when he came over for cereal on Saturday morning. Is that cute or what?

Speaking of Spring, softball season is about to begin and Glazes is proud to be sponsoring a Rookie team. Go "Glazes Flying Purple People Eaters!" The girls made up the name :)

I am so excited about our new website! We still have work to do on it (Thank you Lori and Dan at Freestyle Communications, you are awesome), but it is up and running! Wahoooooo!!!

There are many new features, this blog included. Please check out our new calendar. The calendar is fabulous as you can click on an event and information on the event will appear. Very cool!

This new website is just the beginning of the re-design of Glazes! After ten years in business, I decided to re-energize and re-think the way I run Glazes. It has always been a fun place to come, but I want it to be the place people come and hang out for a feel good time that is creatively inspiring. I want you to leave feeling refreshed and renewed. I want people to reconnect with each other. I want less technology for entertainment and more get your hands dirty good times. I hope this new website will be the catalyst that will make this dream a reality.

Thank you to all the supportive and loyal customers I have met through the years. I wouldn't still be here if it weren't for you. Please spread the word that Glazes is the place to go for entertainment. Keep checking our website as changes will be made often. Add your name to our e-mail newsletter, and tell your friends to also. Specials will be announced, pictures will be posted, events will be promoted.
